Between the ages of 16 and 32, soldiers are accepted by the British Army and for Commonwealth applicants, medicals must be passed before applications will be accepted.

Applicants to the British Army who are not citizens are required to be legally present at the U.K on their own; the army will not facilitate or be directly involved to get you in the U.K validly for the period of your basic training.

Requirements for Joining Australian Army:

To join the Australian Army, applicants are required to speak English and also have experience. Unlike other nations who do not dwell on experience, Australian Army expects that non-citizens who apply must have military experience either by serving foreign military or Australian Military. With the language, in some cases, exceptions are made for people who have a minimum vocational proficiency in English.

For candidates with this vocational proficiency, IELTS 6.0 based on 4 test components (reading, writing, listening and speaking) must be passed. This test must have been taken at most three years prior to visa application to Australia.
